##### Job Summary
This position is responsible for trouble shooting, preventive maintenance, mechanical checks, construction, installation, moving, repairing and maintenance of all electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment and/or systems within Zimmer facilities and/or assigned Value Stream. Primary function is to perform industrial machine repair/service with knowledge of electrical, electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, spindles, ball screws, bearings, servo controls, and machine controllers.
##### Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and/or systems. This includes CNC/NC/PC manufacturing equipment, compressed air system, electrical distribution equipment and various building systems.
Diagnose problems, disassemble, part identification, ordering or fabricating, repair, and reassemble.
Proper care and maintenance of all machinery.
Communicate potential solutions verbally and/or in writing to the appropriate management.
Coordinate/Perform engineering projects; provide suggestions and/or analysis to draw conclusions or project assignments.
Provide training to new employees and/or apprentices.
Rig, move, machinery and equipment.

##### Expected Areas of Competence
Thorough knowledge of servicing/troubleshooting/repairing CNC equipment. 5 years experience in industrial / CNC maintenance.
Be able to diagnose machine problems, and repair machines including disassembly, part identification, ordering or fabricating, and reassemble as necessary in a clean workmanlike manner.
Must have a good understanding of electronics systems with ladder logic.
Capable of operating all manual and power hand tools, machine tools, and electrical measuring instruments.
Knowledge of machine schematics and control diagrams.
Capable of working with little or no supervision.
Capable of servicing electrical distribution and various building systems.
Knowledge of vacuum furnaces, heat treat equipment, and various process furnace/ovens.
Must have a good working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
Knowledgeable of compressed air systems.
Capable of working on and keeping track of several projects at a time.
Able to weld using electric arc, gas, TIG and MIG type equipment. Must have experience using machine set-up and troubleshooting equipment: multi meters, dial indicators, micrometers/calipers, amp probes, power analyzers, kelch meters, load cells
Exert Heavy Physical effort and work in difficult working positions and lift 20-50 lbs.
Must have working knowledge of National Electrical Code
Willing to work in dirty and disagreeable conditions and in all kinds of weather.
##### Education/Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED with and documentation showing formal education in this field or and an equal field such as a millwright.
Four year apprenticeship program of Master Mechanics.
OR:
Associates degree in electronics from an accredited institution or equivalent with five years hands on experience of troubleshooting heavy-duty industrial CNC machinery and controls.
OR:
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position requires a fork truck license.
