The Manufacturing Supervisor, 3rd shift will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in manufacturing. This involves working with team members to establish department goals and objectives and identify appropriate measurements and track progress in each area. This individual will lead and facilitate process improvement teams, manage the technical issues that affect the production floor and identify and implement capital projects. The Manufacturing Supervisor, 3rd shift will also work closely with the production planning, manufacturing engineering, and quality departments. He/She will also work closely with the 1st and 2nd shift Supervisors.
The Manufacturing Supervisor, 3rd shift will select, train and evaluate staff, maintain compliance in all safety, QSR, environmental and contract areas and exercise direct supervision over various departments and production employees with respect to meeting production schedules and delivery dates. This individual will also develop corrective actions for non-conformance issues identified by internal and external audits. Additionally, this individual will approve and correct non-exempt employee daily computer time sheets and ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements through conducting first step grievance meetings. He/She will foster a team environment within the departments and throughout the area value chains. This individual will insure timely and quality delivery to both internal and external customers and be accountable for meeting objectives and taking an active role in project improvement activities, (ie., Lean and PE Initiatives, quality, cell development, new equipment start-ups, new product launch production plans). The Manufacturing Supervisor, 3rd Shift will resolve technical related issues and develop manufacturing procedures, monitoring and measurement systems. Additionally, this individual will use sound root cause investigation to address quality and scrap issues and develop effective corrective actions for non-conformance issues identified by the quality system.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; Engineering, Organizational Leadership or Business discipline is preferred. A minimum of five years experience in Manufacturing, Operations or related field is required. A minimum of 2 years direct supervisory experience is required. Experience within a GMP and/or ISO regulated manufacturing environment is required; ISO9001 or ISO13485 is preferred. Prior experience working in a union-manufacturing environment is preferred. Basic understanding and working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools is required. Lean Six/Sigma Training and/or Certification are preferred. Experience with capacity planning including ERP and Manufacturing Processing Systems (MPS) is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Strong project management skills are required; the ability to lead and facilitate. The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is required.
The Manufacturing Supervisor will be required to work 3rd shift which typically is 11:00m to 7:00am. As the business needs change the hours will vary and flexibility to work overtime, varying shifts or weekends may be required.
