Our client, a leading orthopedic company in Warsaw, IN is looking for Lab Techs that have experience with Metals Testing for a 1 year contract assignment. These are 2nd shift positions.
This position will be responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and for accurately recording results of tests within the assigned laboratory.
Primary Duties are:
Performs tests and experiments under supervision.
Accurately records data and assists in its organization and analysis.
Uses computerized data acquisition and control systems.
Performs required maintenance of laboratory equipment and machinery.
Assists Research engineers and technicians and has a significant personal contact with others in the Research Department, as well as with other departments.
Desired
Experience:
Ability to operate sophisticated test machines, which may include corrosion test equipment and mechanical fatigue machines.
Detail oriented, analytical, and alert, as the work is of a non-routine nature.
Ability to exercise good judgment in determining the reasonableness of the results.
Innovative with ability to make suggestions for improvement.
Ability to use a calculator and perform reliable calculations.
Ability to keep and record accurate and legible data.
Ability to work with small hand tools.
Ability to transport items in the 30-pound range.
Experience using personal computers and working knowledge of Windows.
Knowledge of orthopedic materials is beneficial.
Familiarity with Instron equipment a plus
Familiarity with mechanical preparation methods such as EDM
Education Requirements
Must have previous experience as a Lab Technician.
Must have a general science background, including basic math, algebra, and previous experience with metals testing.
Previous experience in some of the following areas: automotive, high vacuum systems, electronics, mechanics, and laboratory procedures.
